Dear city counsel members and homeowners of the city of Los Angeles,
Over the last few months, many of us have sat back and watched with utter horror and disgust as several cities face a problem they have to deal with, with blatant disregard for human rights and compassion for people suffering in need. Instead of acknowledging that they are cities with growing homeless problems, and begin to work on a humane solutions that help to get this population of people back to being healthy and assets to their communities, they choose to treat them like criminals or ugly blemishes, fining them, harassing them, jailing them or sending them away to be a problem for someone else. Shame on them!! Many of these men, women, and young adults would much rather be in a home of their own, and in a bed of their own, than sleeping on a park bench or cardboard mat on the street. The cities that have already voted to solve a problem with such lack of compassion and responsibility, have demonstrated for everyone to see, that they are more interested in protecting their tourism flow, property values, and public image than in creating solutions fair to all sides. Since when did one group of people become more important than another? Since when is it ok to not take responsibility for having ample resources and solutions in place to get these people back in homes and working?! Why are those who are fortunate enough to have food, clothing, jobs and roof over their heads suddenly judge and jury that have the right and power to look down on others who do not have the fortune of having the same. These are human beings, people Who are guilty of nothing more than being victims to an economy that shows no prejudice in who it tears apart or destroys, or in a country that supports and finds ways to fund wars, but cannot afford to feed and house their poor. And now we see a news story that very soon, local homeowners and city council members may very well join this circle!? SHAME ON YOU!!
In a country that has proven capable of sticking together and helping each other in their time of need, why are so many cities so lazy and irresponsible, that they would rather sweep the dust under the designer carpet than grab the dustpan and get dirty. We have far more empty homes in this country than we have homeless! If our governments on every level focused less on getting rich and famous, and more on creating jobs and taking care of all of their citizens, what a different and wonderful world this would be! The real problems and criminals in these situations aren’t those who have already lost it all, no my friends it is you who choose to punish and look down upon people who need a simple stone to stand on. Is it that easy to forget what its like to e hungry? To be cold? To feel alone or not good enough? Is it really about benefit being a city known as a bully and only value those with money??
Every living thing on the face of this earth has value, and we have seemingly forgotten that! Shame on anyone who has deemed themselves greater than another just because he has more materialistic goods, and owns a home! What have we become? Worse what have we allowed our cities to become!? Is it that difficult to pull together as a community and work on real solutions, especially with so many people already in the trenches and fighting to save those with so much less?! At one point most of those now on the street, were job working, home owning, family loving taxpayers, but now that things in our country have gotten worse the dream of having a life of their own again seems even further out of reach. Unlike years before, the number of us who are standing up for these fellow human beings, is rapidly growing. While many of you curl up safe and sound in the comfort of your homes, millions shiver beneath the cold wintery night sky. This isn’t a disgrace, this is an outrage. A despicable act against humans that punishes a group of people for being forgotten and cast out by screwed up society. Somehow those in charge of our country, just as those of you in charge of our city’s, have forgotten who you work for and who you are supposed to be caring for and protecting. As men and women get raped, bullied, beaten, murdered and jailed, how have you succeeded in doing those simple things? With the exception of the photo opportunity and during the holiday season, when good will and compassion seem to grow out of thin air, these fellow human beings are forgotten and ignored as we drive and/or walk by. Unacceptable! Ignoring the rights of people in need, denying them proper access to the basic necessities, and ignoring the protests and voices of those of us who care and are willing to stand up and fight for them regardless of what it takes, is no longer an option.
To all of you activists, and our strong and compassion, passionate followers and supporters, the time has come for us this madness stop! This is a call to action for all of you across the globe, to stand up and do what is right. For far too long we have allowed the abuse and suffering of people who are in need to continue and enough is enough. There are other solutions, it is far cheaper to help these people than it is to do what they keep doing. Harassing them, jailing them, denying them access to free food, and continually treating them like animals isn’t the answer. Now is the time to stop signing petitions, stop pushing buttons on our pc’s, and be the voices for those already locked up, those who have already had their lives taken from, who need someone to fight for them now!! Let us use this opportunity to rise up peacefully, present realistic and doable solutions, and remind those who look down on those of us with so little, that we matter!! No more abuse! No more denial of the basic necessities that ALL humans rightly deserve to have! It is time that these cities and communities take their responsibility in this issue, and be held accountable for their decisions and actions. These are our fellow brothers and sisters, once thriving assets and soldiers in this country. Getting them healthy and well, and back on the road having a life of their own, whatever it may be is what needs to be done. Unity, working together, helping each other..especially those struggling and in need. The time is now!! Whether you are in a nearby city, across the country, or in another part of the world..you..we…they are human beings… and it is time we stopped allowing those who are elected into office to forget that they are supposed to represent each of us and not just a chosen few!
To the city council of LA, all human lives are valuable and precious, with many of us facing homelessness and poverty very soon. It is not your job to judge and convict, it is your job to create jobs and solutions, and focus on the people who call your city home. We will be the voice for the voiceless, and we will stand up for their right to live and thrive! Ignoring us is not an option, the time has come for change. It is time come together and write every news station, every newspaper, and the LA city council demanding justice for those who have already lost so much. We are, this is, where the change begins. People helping people..the way it was meant to be…Expect us!!
Seed Bombing is a term used since the 1970’s, which is about the time when the guerrilla gardening movement began. According to research, it was in the 1970’s that a group of garden activists known as the “Green Guerrillas” was founded by NYC artist Liz Christy who threw seed bombs into abandoned lots and wastelands. Christy went on to become the creator and founder of the Bowery Houston Community Garden which is still a heavily active garden today..A garden that has received both local support in addition to local government, to help preserve it as a community growing space. Since then, there have been so many different kinds of seed bomb inventions. These include things like seed balloons, seed condoms, seed-filled christmas ornaments, seed capsules, and even seed paper. The most common technique that most of us guerilla gardeners use today, happens to be the ancient method of using natural materials that were used by Masonobu Fukuoka, who used earth clay and seeds to create his successful balls of seeds. No matter where you live, or what recipe or method you use, one thing is for sure. Seed bomb and seed bombing groups are tripling in popularity and numbers, and as more and more consumers jump on the Seed Bomb wagon, even us here at the Food Revolution truly believe the Biotech Companies and Food industry should be very afraid. With every seed and every chemical-free seed bomb thrown or planted, we are in fact taking back our food supply, one bomb at a time!
Here is our chosen must see video for the day!
TODAY IS A GREAT DAY TO GET UP, GET OUT, AND GET GROWING!!!

Is it really any surprise that the Washington labeling battle lost? Or Prop 37 proposal fell to the same fate in pretty much the same fashion. It’s not just the big bad chemical companies that are to blame for this recent demise folks, the dollars you have been spending every day can carry some of the fault as well. Here’s how:
“Members of the Grocery Manufacturers of America, which was forced to create a political committee to comply with state law, have contributed more than $11 million to No on 522, the campaign opposed to the labeling initiative” (shocking, no?). To break it down even further:
Pepsico ($2.4 million)
Coca-Cola ($1.5 million)
Nestle ($1.5 million)
That’s according to a review of state records. These are the same three companies that also made large contributions to defeat the California labeling initiative last year. That was of course after the big processed food companies joined with the biotech firms and helping to raise $46 million for the opposition.
Still there are others:
General Mills ($869,000)
You can add to the list the Campbell’s Soup Company, Kellogg’s Company, Land O’Lakes, Ocean Spray Cranberries, Cargill, Dean Foods and The Hershey Company as well. Yes, every time you spend your hard earned dollars on their products, you contribute to their ability to continue spending large fortunes to make sure labelling doesn’t happen. The thing is, you don’t need labels! I cringed as I watched the amount that either side was spending on labels that people don’t really read right now. And what people do read, they can’t understand. No longer are ingredients simply water, flour, sugar, eggs, etc. If you have to look up ingredients on your smartphone, or online at home to know what you’re eating, it’s not real food and shouldn’t be eaten. The processed food industry is getting richer and richer off making consumers sicker and more overweight. The lies that the government spews out showing reductions in this or that, simply isn’t true. The next time you’re out and about take a good look around you. What do you see? Do you see healthy and energized people, or are most of the adults and children you see in dire need of healthier food and a nutrition intervention? I think you’ll find that things aren’t as healthy and wonderful as what some people try to convince you of. Over 85% of all processed food has at least one or more GE (GMO) ingredients in them! That means that unless verified otherwise, grocery store shelves lined from ceiling to floor with GMOs. Most of the food we eat today isnt real food at all. It concerns me that we are so focused on labels, for food that shouldn’t be consumed in the first place. And by continuing to waste time and money on fighting to label garbage food, we’re continuing to allow the same food to be purchased and generating additional demand. Knowing that just about every single processed food product has one or more GMOs in it, how does it slip the minds of so many that purchasing products that contain GMOs, supports the growth of GE crops!!!
Complaining about such defeats just seems so ridiculous. What should we be doing then? The bottom line is this…real food doesn’t have an extended shelf life. Real food doesn’t have a dozen ingredients in it that you have to look up in order to know what you are eating. We’re so wrapped up in labelling food that needs to be taken off the shelves and replaced with real and whole foods, that we aren’t taking time out to realize that we’re fighting to label the very same foods contributing to the chronic diseases and illnesses, food allergies and weight issues we have today. The answer isnt easy or simple, because it makes us have to take responsibility for our own health and wellness, and for that of our family. The only way we are going to solve this problem is by getting out and getting growing. And with air pollution and the nasty chemicals being sprayed on us, learning how to creatively grow indoors is even better. Until we start growing our own food, going out into our communities and starting community gardens/greenhouses and take the reliance from buying and consuming these fake foods, the cycle will continue and this will be an ongoing battle. I look at the amount of money raised to try and pass the label initiatives and then I look back at how that same money could have been spent on school lunches programs and getting them away from the clutches of Monsanto, or on nutrition programs that are designed to to not only teach people what they should be eating and how to cook without using GMOs or toxic chemicals and additives. Think about it. Labelling continues the GMO cycle. It allows the nutritional oppression that has plagued us for far too long, to remain a burden to our health and wellness, as well as to our pocketbooks as we stay prisoners to the OTC medications and prescription we rely on to get through each day. It just seems like we are wasting so much time and money to label products we need to have gone, when we should be working on the root of the problem.
We here at the Food Revolution support self-reliance, self-sufficiency, and personal responsibility. The time of blaming and crying over spilled milk is over. it’s time to grab those containers if you live in an area that is now in winter mode, educate yourself on aquaponics and hydroponics, relearn how to cook and eat healthier, and get growing. Until we take back the reigns on this stage coach, we will remain conforming GMO supporters. There are so many amazing new grassroots groups and organizations that are popping up all across the world that are willing and able to help you make the change. It’s time to get our bodies back on real and chemical free foods and beverages so that they can begin to detox and function as they should. If you start today, replacing even just one meal a week with a healthy and processed free foods, you are already starting the process. Together we can take back our food supply! Together we can learn how to help and take care of each other! Together we can make a difference. We can do it together!

Food Companies and Monsanto Spend Millions to Defeat Washington GMO Labeling Initiative. http://www.truth-out.org/news/item/19698-revealed-big-processed-food-companies-spend-millions-to-defeat-washington-gmo-labeling-initiative
Over the past few months there have been so many amazing grassroots groups and organizations popping up all supporting the grow your own food and feed the hungry movement. So many awesome and wonderful people coming together not because they want to have their face and name plastered on a facebook page, in a newspaper, or blog, but because people helping other people out is how it should be. Many of these heroic groups and people come from pasts that have had them in the very shoes of those in need, that is the fire that is lit under their unselfish and forward moving determination. They, much like us, don’t keep track of the hours of sleep lost, the number of dollars spent out of pocket without hesitation, or how many people thanked us. There are no medals of honor, no world peace prize, no monetary awards. The feelings you feel when you see the smiles, feel the hugs, and hear the thank you’s is worth more than anything in this world.
The need for healthy and chemical free food has never been greater, and every dollar of every day that is spent funding the food industry and chemical companies who are in charge of it, is another day of illness and death that shouldn’t exist. We need people to step out of their getting by lives, and want to do what is right because its right. Because one day,, sooner or later, we may very well find ourselves in that same position if we haven’t already been there before. When I look into the faces of those I am blessed to be able to help get healthier and in a better position to get back on their feet, I don’t see someone who is lesser than me, or asks to be where he/she is. I see a man, woman, and more often than innocent children who have had their lives yanked out from underneath them and just need a solid ground to stand on. These are our fellow brothers and sisters, people with just as much value and purpose in this world as you and me. When we stop looking at them as equals to us, we far too easily turn our backs on them, many only feeling the spirit of giving during the holidays.
Friends and blog followers, this is simply not acceptable. I get that there are many who don’t know where to start or what to even do. I get that there are many of us who live in states and countries that have cold winter months. But hunger, homelessness, and poverty don’t go off to a warm weather place until the cold hard months pass, neither should we. Food banks and soup kitchens are simply failing to provide food with sufficient nutrition on a regular basis, and it shouldn’t have to be their burden anyways. WE have the ability to make a difference and create change. It won’t make you rich and famous, or get you a presidential medal. We already see and know that our government and the companies they are so deeply in bed with no longer have our best interest at heart any more…then again it has been that way for quite some time hasn’t it?! It has to change…
With the BioChem companies so well connected and in total control over our food supply..community gardens need to be taken to a whole new level if they are going to succeed and truly be beneficial to the people they are meant to support and keep healthy…As each day passes,, even organic farmers are battling to keep their crops safe from chemtrails, cross-breeding, and sabotage from those who wish eliminate the opposition.its not a conspiracy, this is our reality, and if we don’t keep our commitment and undivided attention on keeping a continued cycle of growing healthy and chemical free GMO free food growing..our children will never what a real apple tastes like, what a real orange tastes like, how crisp and amazing a real green bean tastes. Growing indoors, vertically, horizontally, using aquaponics, hydroponics,, it doesn’t matter..there are no excuses are time left to waste…keeping consumers poor and unhealthy is the goal of the agenda, and regardless of what you do or do not believe, a healthy and clean food supply and drinking water is the most important battle we should be trying to win right now…Make every day a good day to get out and get growing, get creative and start experimenting, it’s our health and wellness, our children’s future..Until we are all on the same page, helping each other in every way we can, sharing what we know and our skills, working together and standing united….we will lose this battle…as a parent, that is not acceptable..it starts with us…right here and right now…if it’s winter that your facing, bring your garden inside!! If your fortunate enough to be in a location where it never gets too cold, then grow as much as you can and preserve it, sharing it with those who cannot..There is no more room for I can’t, no more time left for I’ll start in the spring!! There are millions who need fresh water and healthy GMO free food right now!! If it were you, and your family, would you want people to wait until it was more convenient..THE TIME IS NOW!!!
Get our butts up and out and let’s get growing….It’s time to stop waiting and start doing…POWER TO THE PEOPLE!! IT’S TIME FOR A FOOD REVOLUTION!!
Greetings fellow Food Revolutionaries, Today is Monday September 9th, 2013..Happy Monday to you and yours! As we watch and watch for the US to make its move against Syria…it is easy to forget about the problems and issues we need to be dealing with right here at home. Part of me thinks that this in fact the whole point…to distract you from seeing the evil and horrific events that are about to take place, and sadly have already begun. Over the last few months several cities have taken action against those who already have so little as it is. Barely able to get by, living wherever they can, trying to just make it through one more day..that is their daily life. And yet because these people aren’t driving around in nice cars, wearing nice clothes, or living the lives we all get to enjoy, it has been decided that these human beings are nothing but deadbeat nuisances, who make our cities look bad…who scare away tourists…who lead to supposed increased crimes..In south Carolina they not only made it illegal to be homeless, but have also gone so far as to forbid them from ever entering the city again!! Sickening! Shame on them! These people are not animals, they are human beings..fellow brothers and sisters.. who at one time not that long ago were assets to their communities and state..to this country. Shipping them off like cattle to FEMA camps!! The same places we sit here every day and say we will NEVER let them take us of too. Where is the outrage? Where are the widespread protests? Where are the people who can see and know how wrong this is and are spreading the messages of justice for them?? We need Angels for the Homeless now!! Stand up, get up, speak out! We say we are tired of rights and freedoms being taken away and that will stop at nothing to protect our families…but these are fellow brothers and sisters and they deserve a chance to be retrained, taught how to be self-reliant and self-sufficient..a chance to become an asset to their cities and state again..The time is now!! Will you answer the call to do what is right?!
