Nearly 9 million… yes, MILLION pounds of beef products produced by a Northern California company has been recalled. Rancho Feeding Corporation in Petaluma, California has issued a recall because the products processed are “unsound, unwholesome or otherwise are unfit for human food” without undergoing a full federal inspection, the USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service announced Saturday.
The products were produced between January 1, 2013 through January 7, 2014.. yes, nearly an entire years worth of meat. Products were shipped to distribution centers and retail establishments in California, Florida, Illiniois and Texas. They include beef carcasses, oxtail, liver, cheeks, tripe, tongue and veal bones. A list of the recalled products can be found here.
Last month the company recalled more than 40,000 pounds of meat products produced on January 8 that also didn’t undergo a full inspection. The problems were discovered as part of an ongoing investigation, the FSIS said.
The FSIS has not received any reports of illness. Because some of the products could still be frozen and in storage, a Class I recall was issued because the meat product could cause serious, adverse health consequences.
Consumers who have questions about the recall can contact the plant’s Quality Control manager, Scott Parks at (707) 762-6651.
As if we didn’t have enough reasons to hate Monsanto.
The monarch butterfly’s life cycle has always been synchronized to the seasonal growth of milkweed, the only plant its larvae will eat. Successive generations of monarchs follow the springtime emergence of milkweed from Mexico to Canada. The hardy plant once flourished in grasslands, roadsides, abandoned lots, and cornfields across much of the continent. It fueled a mass migration that ended each winter with more than 60 million butterflies converging on pine forests in the Sierra Madres.
This week, the World Wildlife Fund announced that last year’s migration from Canada and the United States to Mexico had reached a record low since scientists started to monitor monarch butterfly colonies in 1993. This winter, butterflies were found in 1.7 acres across 11 sanctuaries, down from a high of 45 acres in 1996.
The monarch population began to steadily sink as more than a million of acres of grasslands rapidly are being wiped out in favor of corn and soybean fields, a rate of loss comparable to the deforestation of Brazil and Indonesia. Monsanto’s Roundup Week Killer is largely to blame for the decline, since it kills everything, including milkweed, which is down by 80%. The butterfly population has decreased by the same amount. Some states, such as Iowa, is losing more than 98 percent of their milkweed population. The weed doesn’t even grown on the edges of farmland anymore and the disappearance of the plant poses a huge risk to the insect’s survival.
There are other possible scenarios for the butterfly’s disappearance, including two years of unusual spring weather in the United States. 2012 was hotter than normal and the following year it was colder, disrupting the insects’ northward migration. Illegal logging has dwindled away the butterfly’s winter habitat. But nothing can match the lost milkweed in the Midwest, birthplace of roughly half of all the monarchs east of the Rocky Mountains.
This isn’t new news though. Declines in the population of Monarch butterfly’s have been reported for a number of years. Honeybee populations have been sliding downhill as well. Who are we going to listen to? An evil corporation preparing to take over the world? Or the beautiful living insects on this earth that keep everything else in sync?
Tyson Foods Inc. is recalling nearly 34,000 pounds of mechanically separated chicken products due to possible Salmonella contaminant. The chicken parts were not shipped to supermarkets for customers, but instead it was intended for use in institutions and had been already shipped to California, Florida, Indiana, Kansas, Nevada, New Jersey, Ohio and Wisconsin.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) and Tyson Foods said they were voluntarily recalling the 40-pound cases of chicken. The products were produced on Oct. 11, 2013. The product can be identified by the establishment code P-13556, which is located inside the USDA mark of inspection, as well as with the code date 2843SDL1412-18. The product cases can be identified by code 17433-928 which is printed on the exterior label.
The recall was issued after FSIS was made aware of people at a Tennessee correctional facility was infected with the particular strain, Salmonella Heidelberg, on Dec. 12, 2013. After some investigation and working with the Tennessee Department of Health, results show that seven patients at the facility had been sickened by the bacteria between Nov 29, 2013 to Dec 5, 2013, two of them required hospitalization.
This is not the first time Tyson Foods Inc. has issued recalls. In 2012, over 67,000 pounds of their “Honey BBQ Flavored Boneless Chicken Wyngz” were recalled due to mis-branding and allergens that weren’t reported on the label. In 2013, about 127,000 pounds of uncooked breaded chicken tenderloins and uncooked chicken tenderloin fritter products, for the same reason.
The public can contact Tyson Consumer Relations department at 866-886-8456 with any questions or concerns.
According to the CDC (Center for Disease Control and Prevention), there are about 42,000 cases of salmonellosis that is reported each year in the United States. The CDC also states that the actual number of infections may be 29 or more times greater, as not all cases are diagnosed or reported.
People infected with Salmonella may develop diarrhea, fever, and abdominal cramps 12 to 72 hours after infection. The illness typically lasts 4 to 7 days.
A recent report from Consumer Reports showed that 97 percent of raw chicken breasts researchers tested had contained potentially harmful bacteria.
People can prevent salmonellosis by cooking poultry, ground beef and eggs thoroughly. When preparing meat, wash hands, kitchen work surfaces and utensils with soap and water after they come in contact with raw meat or poultry. Those in contact with infants should not handle raw poultry and meat at the same time.
Seed Bombing is a term used since the 1970’s, which is about the time when the guerrilla gardening movement began. According to research, it was in the 1970’s that a group of garden activists known as the “Green Guerrillas” was founded by NYC artist Liz Christy who threw seed bombs into abandoned lots and wastelands. Christy went on to become the creator and founder of the Bowery Houston Community Garden which is still a heavily active garden today..A garden that has received both local support in addition to local government, to help preserve it as a community growing space. Since then, there have been so many different kinds of seed bomb inventions. These include things like seed balloons, seed condoms, seed-filled christmas ornaments, seed capsules, and even seed paper. The most common technique that most of us guerilla gardeners use today, happens to be the ancient method of using natural materials that were used by Masonobu Fukuoka, who used earth clay and seeds to create his successful balls of seeds. No matter where you live, or what recipe or method you use, one thing is for sure. Seed bomb and seed bombing groups are tripling in popularity and numbers, and as more and more consumers jump on the Seed Bomb wagon, even us here at the Food Revolution truly believe the Biotech Companies and Food industry should be very afraid. With every seed and every chemical-free seed bomb thrown or planted, we are in fact taking back our food supply, one bomb at a time!
Here is our chosen must see video for the day!

Is it really any surprise that the Washington labeling battle lost? Or Prop 37 proposal fell to the same fate in pretty much the same fashion. It’s not just the big bad chemical companies that are to blame for this recent demise folks, the dollars you have been spending every day can carry some of the fault as well. Here’s how:
“Members of the Grocery Manufacturers of America, which was forced to create a political committee to comply with state law, have contributed more than $11 million to No on 522, the campaign opposed to the labeling initiative” (shocking, no?). To break it down even further:
Pepsico ($2.4 million)
Coca-Cola ($1.5 million)
Nestle ($1.5 million)
That’s according to a review of state records. These are the same three companies that also made large contributions to defeat the California labeling initiative last year. That was of course after the big processed food companies joined with the biotech firms and helping to raise $46 million for the opposition.
Still there are others:
General Mills ($869,000)
You can add to the list the Campbell’s Soup Company, Kellogg’s Company, Land O’Lakes, Ocean Spray Cranberries, Cargill, Dean Foods and The Hershey Company as well. Yes, every time you spend your hard earned dollars on their products, you contribute to their ability to continue spending large fortunes to make sure labelling doesn’t happen. The thing is, you don’t need labels! I cringed as I watched the amount that either side was spending on labels that people don’t really read right now. And what people do read, they can’t understand. No longer are ingredients simply water, flour, sugar, eggs, etc. If you have to look up ingredients on your smartphone, or online at home to know what you’re eating, it’s not real food and shouldn’t be eaten. The processed food industry is getting richer and richer off making consumers sicker and more overweight. The lies that the government spews out showing reductions in this or that, simply isn’t true. The next time you’re out and about take a good look around you. What do you see? Do you see healthy and energized people, or are most of the adults and children you see in dire need of healthier food and a nutrition intervention? I think you’ll find that things aren’t as healthy and wonderful as what some people try to convince you of. Over 85% of all processed food has at least one or more GE (GMO) ingredients in them! That means that unless verified otherwise, grocery store shelves lined from ceiling to floor with GMOs. Most of the food we eat today isnt real food at all. It concerns me that we are so focused on labels, for food that shouldn’t be consumed in the first place. And by continuing to waste time and money on fighting to label garbage food, we’re continuing to allow the same food to be purchased and generating additional demand. Knowing that just about every single processed food product has one or more GMOs in it, how does it slip the minds of so many that purchasing products that contain GMOs, supports the growth of GE crops!!!
Complaining about such defeats just seems so ridiculous. What should we be doing then? The bottom line is this…real food doesn’t have an extended shelf life. Real food doesn’t have a dozen ingredients in it that you have to look up in order to know what you are eating. We’re so wrapped up in labelling food that needs to be taken off the shelves and replaced with real and whole foods, that we aren’t taking time out to realize that we’re fighting to label the very same foods contributing to the chronic diseases and illnesses, food allergies and weight issues we have today. The answer isnt easy or simple, because it makes us have to take responsibility for our own health and wellness, and for that of our family. The only way we are going to solve this problem is by getting out and getting growing. And with air pollution and the nasty chemicals being sprayed on us, learning how to creatively grow indoors is even better. Until we start growing our own food, going out into our communities and starting community gardens/greenhouses and take the reliance from buying and consuming these fake foods, the cycle will continue and this will be an ongoing battle. I look at the amount of money raised to try and pass the label initiatives and then I look back at how that same money could have been spent on school lunches programs and getting them away from the clutches of Monsanto, or on nutrition programs that are designed to to not only teach people what they should be eating and how to cook without using GMOs or toxic chemicals and additives. Think about it. Labelling continues the GMO cycle. It allows the nutritional oppression that has plagued us for far too long, to remain a burden to our health and wellness, as well as to our pocketbooks as we stay prisoners to the OTC medications and prescription we rely on to get through each day. It just seems like we are wasting so much time and money to label products we need to have gone, when we should be working on the root of the problem.
We here at the Food Revolution support self-reliance, self-sufficiency, and personal responsibility. The time of blaming and crying over spilled milk is over. it’s time to grab those containers if you live in an area that is now in winter mode, educate yourself on aquaponics and hydroponics, relearn how to cook and eat healthier, and get growing. Until we take back the reigns on this stage coach, we will remain conforming GMO supporters. There are so many amazing new grassroots groups and organizations that are popping up all across the world that are willing and able to help you make the change. It’s time to get our bodies back on real and chemical free foods and beverages so that they can begin to detox and function as they should. If you start today, replacing even just one meal a week with a healthy and processed free foods, you are already starting the process. Together we can take back our food supply! Together we can learn how to help and take care of each other! Together we can make a difference. We can do it together!

Food Companies and Monsanto Spend Millions to Defeat Washington GMO Labeling Initiative. http://www.truth-out.org/news/item/19698-revealed-big-processed-food-companies-spend-millions-to-defeat-washington-gmo-labeling-initiative
When we began our Seed Bomb event, it started out as a one time thing, with a specific designated day. The emails and comments we got reinforced what we had already known but weren’t
sure others felt the same…During the winter months, the ground is frozen, and the hungry and poor are even more in need of proper nutrition and food. Food banks and soup kitchens, with all of their GMO foods, see even more hungry mouths to feed, including teenagers and young children. And yet, with the ground covered in a blanket of snow, the cold winter months deters us from continuing the gardening that must be done if we are to save our fellow human beings and fight for our food supply.
Today, with our creativity and inventions, we can bring outdoor gardening on every level, inside. Growing hundreds of pounds of food or just enough to get through each month. Apartments, condos, rentals, houses, etc..it no longer matters where you live there’s a solution and means to continue growing food. Aquaponics, Hydroponics, window gardening, container gardens..with a little bit of re-education you can grow your own food inside for you and to give to those in need. The key words to take from that, is re-education. By continuing to spend your dollars on the toxic and chemical filled foods we are so used to eating and addicted to, you are in essence continuing the legal poisoning and forced nutritional oppression that has taken so many lives already and forced so many more to suffer through chronic diseases, illnesses, food allergies, and weight problems we are seeing such a rise of today. Convenience and cost become the most important things to us, sacrificing the future health and wellness of our children.
There are a rapidly growing number of grassroots groups popping up all across the world! In order to step out of the vicious circle of pain, sickness, obesity, depression, etc..we have to leave behind everything we have been fed and look back to before we had shelves with lab created food and fake food drive thru’s, to the times when people came together and grew the real food they planted and harvested. With the brain power, creativity, and technology we have today the excuses of the past should stay in the past. The food industry has been allowed for too long to force us into the unhealthy and medicated lives we live today. Organizing community gardens in every village, townships, and city isnt a pipe dream, it has to become a reality. We don’t need grass to decorate our lawns, we need chemical free and nutritious food. Our health issues and hunger don’t take time off during the coming the holiday season..why are we?
If you haven’t had a chance to check out our Food Revolution page, take some time and check it out! Not only are we creating change every day and helping others to eat better, live healthier, and cook healthier, but we are also sponsoring an ongoing seed bomb event that gives people creative ideas on how to continue growing all year-long and share it with those who need it the most. We have the most amazing bunch of supporters and followers and they continue to spread the word and help us to get others motivated every day! We must begin to come together and work together if we are going to take back our food supply and get our lives into a healthier and more wholesome life..We have the power and numbers..Power to the people..It’s Time For A Food Revolution!!

With the BioChem companies so well connected and in total control over our food supply..community gardens need to be taken to a whole new level if they are going to succeed and truly be beneficial to the people they are meant to support and keep healthy…As each day passes,, even organic farmers are battling to keep their crops safe from chemtrails, cross-breeding, and sabotage from those who wish eliminate the opposition.its not a conspiracy, this is our reality, and if we don’t keep our commitment and undivided attention on keeping a continued cycle of growing healthy and chemical free GMO free food growing..our children will never what a real apple tastes like, what a real orange tastes like, how crisp and amazing a real green bean tastes. Growing indoors, vertically, horizontally, using aquaponics, hydroponics,, it doesn’t matter..there are no excuses are time left to waste…keeping consumers poor and unhealthy is the goal of the agenda, and regardless of what you do or do not believe, a healthy and clean food supply and drinking water is the most important battle we should be trying to win right now…Make every day a good day to get out and get growing, get creative and start experimenting, it’s our health and wellness, our children’s future..Until we are all on the same page, helping each other in every way we can, sharing what we know and our skills, working together and standing united….we will lose this battle…as a parent, that is not acceptable..it starts with us…right here and right now…if it’s winter that your facing, bring your garden inside!! If your fortunate enough to be in a location where it never gets too cold, then grow as much as you can and preserve it, sharing it with those who cannot..There is no more room for I can’t, no more time left for I’ll start in the spring!! There are millions who need fresh water and healthy GMO free food right now!! If it were you, and your family, would you want people to wait until it was more convenient..THE TIME IS NOW!!!
Get our butts up and out and let’s get growing….It’s time to stop waiting and start doing…POWER TO THE PEOPLE!! IT’S TIME FOR A FOOD REVOLUTION!!
That’s right a day to raise awareness, and really get out there and help those in need. The statistics are horrifying both here in the US and on a worldwide level, with underdeveloped countries struggling the most. As our attention is being directed a dozen or more different ways, we are forgetting to look around us at the faces and people right there in our own neighborhoods and cities. If each of us stood and became their voice, let those voices ring loud and clear across the glob, that will no longer allow a single human being to go without food or any of the other basic necessities, this world would be a better place. Whether you print off some flyers to hand out, pas out gift cards or food, October 10th is your chance to help us make a difference even if its in the life of just one person. WE THE PEOPLE can make a difference, and we should be!
In the beginning there was excitement and rants about helping and doing something. We explained what our goals were, what we needed, and how much we need you to help us spread the message and come together. As the weeks have passed, our country and many others have seen additional conflicts and changes. People are suffering and struggling on an even greater level, in even greater numbers. Chemical and additive free foods and clean healthy water are vital to human health and wellness. They are crucial to being healthy and fighting off illness and diseases…My friends, our food supply has been monopolized by the very same company that brought us Agent Orange, and they (along with the other BioMafia corporations) are wiping real food off the shelves menus, leaving you with the genetically modified garbage “fake” foods that are creating new illnesses, causing chronic diseases and illness, and keeping our countries overweight. Our poor are the biggest the victims..they eat whatever they can find, with city after city making it illegal to give them food and even sleep at night. Enough is enough, and the time has come for you to decide who you really are. Are you the kind of person that stands there or walks by and tell yourself its not your problem, my tax dollars take care of that or they deserve t, or are you the person who was so excited to join us and do whatever you can to makea difference and fight back..We are fighters..We are do’ers..we are the strength, fists and power for those who have none..We are the Food Revolution and we call upon you to help us make a difference now!!
Recently I stumbled across an article that claimed Monsanto and several of the other biotech corporations want you to ask them questions. While I assure you that this is just another attempt to try and drum up some kind of positive image and support..heading off the to the article for yourself and asking the questions you have certainly can’t hurt. The bottom line is, if your smart and truly care about your future and your families health, you need to do as much research and investigating as you can. The back and forth between the conventional farmers (who use and live by bioseed), and our beloved organics will continue to plague your media channels until one or the other wins out and reigns supreme..Sadly I think the only real winners are the food companies and big businesses bottom line is if your poor which most of us are or are on the brink of becoming..you eat what you can afford. And if you can only afford to replace some of your foods with organics a day or two a week or worse, even a month, and the rest of your diet is full of the garbage diets westerns thrive on..your not doing yourself any good..until we spread the free food movement..the losers are us the consumers..But please check out the link, ask questions and let us know what if anything you get back!! 🙂
